There's been several nicely developed widgets indeed and a lot of the translation has improved, but still these automatic translations unfortunately tend to be far from correct.
For the heck of it I have tried translating several pages of English text to my native language once and to be quite frank the result was rather disappointing. Many of the words were perfect literal translations, that's for sure, but it takes away the context and simply fills it in with gibberish.
It's definitely a double edged sword, it might appear more user friendly towards your visitors but the entire message could end up being translated into gibberish. The question at such a point is of course, is it worth it?
but you know there is no other chance for blogs. What we want here is information rather than perfection. If you can get the information then thats enough.

Indeed there are many nicely developed widgets that are coming out today, but still, they often have the propensity to only translate words and not the exact message of a text. I personally, would rather depend on a native speaker to translate a document.
